Nelda Menard: It's All About Community

Nelda Menard is no stranger to the Opelousas community. She grew up playing music with her grandfather, D.L. Menard, a Cajun music legend. Her ancestral roots are deep, and her ties to the area are strong. Many will remember Nelda from her time coaching fast-pitch travel softball for over twenty years in the area. During that time, many people got to know her personally and can attest to her strong work ethic and character.

When Southside Roofing hires a new team member, we intentionally bring like-minded people on board who instinctively put the customer first. We look for people who will share our belief that we are not merely roofers; we are neighbors. We look after our own. The fact that Nelda shares this strong sense of service and commitment to our community is no accident. “My fellow team members and I are involved and vested in the people of the area. We want to give back to the community every day.”

When asked about her goal in serving the residents of the community, Nelda had this to say: “Every homeowner should feel good and sleep well at night knowing they made the right when hiring their contractor. A roof system is a lifelong investment in their most asset - their home. It’s my job to let people know we are licensed, insured, and have been in business for many years with multiple locations throughout the state. We want each customer to feel relieved when they call us, and our team shows up at their home. Our goal is to deliver peace of mind and earn the trust of our clients by proving our integrity.”
